When I lived in Azusa , CA., I used to hear Grey jays in neighboring trees in the early morning hours , before sunrise , during spring and summer months. Much of the time , it was one , lone bird singing his song. I would be reading , or writing during these times ; the world outside was quiet ; everyone else was asleep , and I always found the far off warbling comforting , and yet , mysterious.
Now that I live in Monett , MO., I still hear it from time to time , but not as much as I used to. I miss hearing it , and those days.
